Oops.
Hello, world. It’s been a while, no? Things have been so hectic. I’ve been neglectful of posting, I know.
I guess I’ll start with the job situation. We finally found out about the bid. The contractor I work for didn’t win the re-bid. So things there are definitely changing. Obviously they will not be hiring me on as a supervisor. I’m not sure where things are going from here. There are plenty of rumors right now, but everything is up in the air.
The new contractor has said they want to interview current staff. There is definitely potential of being hired by them. There are rumors that they are hiring directly, which would be AWESOME. They’re also looking at the current location, which would be AWESOME (because I drive on auto-pilot, lol). The current project/operations manager is helping everyone with their resumes. Mine is ready to go. I plan on giving it to them on Tuesday when the new contractor has a Q&A session.
I am hopeful. The new contractor seems to be focusing on making sure that everything is handled as quickly and smoothly as possible so that people at least know if they have a job in January or not. But I’m still in the “hurry up and wait” stage there.
Not engaged yet.
We’re still doing great, mind you. I just kinda hoped to be engaged by now. I can’t wait for him to graduate. I can’t wait to not be waiting there. I think I might just propose to HIM. Or kidnap him. Kidnapping might be cheaper.
Exercise has been…on and off. Two weeks ago, I started running again with the c25k program. I was getting home late, so I didn’t do the Bob Harper DVDs. Then last week I was making up time to take a bit of Friday off. That Wednesday, my computer died. Took all of Friday off to take it in, because it’s under warranty, yay. As of today (over a WEEK LATER), they have narrowed it down to the motherboard, the video card, or both. This would be considered progress if I HADN’T ALREADY TOLD THEM THAT. >.>
This past week I’ve been sick. It sucks, but there it is. I plan on re-starting on Monday.
So life is crazy. I’m up, I’m down, I’m all over the place. I’m sure it’ll all work out eventually. Just gotta keep hurrying up so I can wait.
Hello again
Sorry for the long absence. Things have been CRAZY here. Might have to do a bullet summary.
1. Still working on the thyroid stuff. Hoping to just get a refill this month because I have NO time to go to the doctor right now. Maybe next month.
2. Still working out. Progress has been slow, but there HAS been progress. The biggest was still from when I was sick. Ha!
3. Still waiting to hear on the re-bid at work. Yup. Don’t know either way. The implementation period supposedly started at the beginning of September. Everyone’s just kinda waiting.
4. I have been to Dallas 3 times in the last 4 weekends. And I’m going again this weekend. Mind you, it’s mostly been for fun stuff. The boyfriend’s sister’s b-day, visiting some of his friends, then I visited a friend of mine for ANIMEFEST WOOHOO. Next weekend is the boyfriend’s mom’s wedding. Hopefully it will be good.
I’ve picked running up again. It got waaaaay too hot to run. Now that it’s better, I’ve started up with the C25K (Couch to 5k). I downloaded a really awesome app for my iphone. I just completed Week 1 today. Tomorrow starts week 2. I’ve been working late and things have been chaotic, so I haven’t been working out at home as much as I’d like. I hope to start it up again tomorrow.
I’ve also started a diet. I *think* it’s going to be temporary. It’s the Slimfast 3-2-1. Yeah. But hey, if it works, right? So we’ll see how that goes. Shake for breakfast with some fruit, fruit for a morning snack , cereal for lunch, a fiber bar for an afternoon snack, and a shake with the Shakeology Fiber Boost in it for dinner. I’m hoping to lose a few pounds between today and, well, next Saturday. Between the running, exercise at home, and diet, I should see some faster success, yes?
Anyways, gonna wrap this up. I hope to post a little more frequently. Sorry for the abandonment!
O.M.G.
So, I knew that my clothes have been a bit big for a while. I’ve stopped wearing some entirely, and I wash my jeans every other day.
That’d be because I’ve dropped two pant sizes. I’M IN THE SINGLE DIGIT PANT SIZES NOW BOOYEAH! The Texan Countess was kind enough to give me a pair of her jeans as hand-me-downs, and while they’re still a liiiittle big, they’re not as ginormous as my jeans.
WOOHOO!
O_o
Woooooow. Today was a long day. Work wasn’t hard, mind you, but man. Wasn’t feeling well, but figured it was due to upcoming female things that were due in a few days. Except that it turned out to be due to upcoming female things that decided to come today. No advil. No pain meds of any type.
I still managed to run, though! I jogged 2.87 miles and completed 20 pushups, 20 standard lunges for each leg, 20 side lunges, and 120 crunches (40 regular, 20 oblique each side, 20 lower, and 20 bicycle). And then I cried. Bahahaha.
So I get home and heat up a slice of pizza. I crash on the couch with a coke (yeah, yeah, yeah) and decide I want peanut butter toast. I bought some DELICIOUS all-natural peanut butter yesterday. Today it was also on fire. Didn’t realize that some had dripped down onto the heating element of the toaster oven. And then caught fire. (Note: This is the SECOND time I have set a toaster oven on fire, neither time being a problem with the actual toaster). We put it out, to the detriment of one of the pieces of toast. The other one managed to not get wet, but it was, uh, a little on the burnt side. Dunno how that happened.
>.>
So now I’m eating ice cream.
So there.
Muahahahaha!
Well, today has been a day and a half! Work was crazy, got home and it was crazy here too!
Today I made 100 people very sad. I downloaded and printed the garnishment orders that their employer hadn’t received. I have NEVER printed that many. The kick? There were about 50 more to go. A coworker offered to do them for me, thank goodness. The second half of the monthly QA sample came in today, so I get to work on that tomorrow first thing. Not to mention all the work that has piled up for my own stuff, but I might not even get to WORK on that, since we’re almost at the cap.
Crap.
In other news, I’m working out for my full lunch hour now! I ran 0.87 miles on my AM break and 2.09 miles on my lunch break (26 minutes). I then completed 20 pushups (modified), 40 lunges (20 each leg), 20 squats, and 120 crunches (20 each of regular, oblique on each side, lower, and bicyle).
It was awesome!
Mom is currently working VBS in the evbenings this week, so I came home and made dinner, cleaned up a bit, and I’m now waiting for a load of laundry to finish in the wash. So no shred. Bah. (I know, I know, I’m complaining about only working out once.)
Hope everyone’s week is going well!
Monday, Monday.
Another Monday out of the way. I swear some of the specialists find new ways to be dumb every day. The newbies have an excuse. The ones who have been here 3 years? Not so much.
Anyways! Combined post, boo hoo to you.
This weekend kinda failed on the tennis part. The boyfriend and I worked out Friday evening in his apartment’s gym (I did 25 minutes of cross-trainer work and 25 minutes of weight work). Friday evening I ate a banzai burger at Red Robin. Well, part of it. That thing was ginormous. It was very, very delicious.
Saturday we woke up to go play tennis. All, and I mean all, of the free tennis places we checked HAD NO NETS. At that point we decided that we weren’t meant to play tennis. Hopefully we’ll find a place in advance next time. With nets. We finished up watching True Blood. OH MY GOODNESS. Let me put it this way: The second season is too violent for ME.
This is the formula I’ve found: Combine 1 part hentai (the non-tentacle kind), 1 part Twilight, a shot of anime romantic comedy, with 2 parts Saw (all of them). The storyline is amazing. But man, people are either having sex or something disgusting is happening. Or both.
They tell me that season 3 is better. >_>
Anyways, watched some of season 2, providing my brain with plenty of materials for nightmares when I have my next fever. Then a friend of the boyfriend’s came by and we went out to dinner at Saltgrass. Here, I was more moderate, eating half of my entree and leaving the rest of it for Sunday. Sunday we finished up True Blood (WHEN IT WAS LIGHT OUTSIDE OMG). I ended up going home early in the afternoon to finish up domestic activities at the house.
So…no exercise Saturday and Sunday, and I was still weighing less than what I weighed after the stomach bug. *glee* I’m working so hard to keep it off! And I think I’m losing some as well!
Today, I had work, work, work, and more work. The “sample” is in right now. Basically the OAG picks random files completed for various categories and has us submit the sources for why we did what we did. We need to have a QA score of 98%.
I’m gonna freaking kill our specialists. The rage I felt fueled my exercise at work. I ran for about 3 miles today, all told, and completed 20 pushups, 20 lunges (each leg), 20 squats, and 100 crunches (20 regular, 40 oblique, 20 lower, 20 bicycle).
When I got home, I was thinking about doing a shred session, but then I found a dying scorpion (we just re-applied poison, since we’ve been finding scorpions of the non-dying variety). So then I went on a mad hunt through the house to hasten them all on their merry little way. Heart rate was high, though, so it counts, right?
I’m still waiting on my Bob Harper DVDs to come in. I also still plan on doing the shred more regularly until then. But dude. Scorpions. *shudder*
Anyways, that’s how my weekend/beginning of the week went. Hope everyone had a great one.
What a weekend!
This weekend was, in a word, phenomenal. My boyfriend and I drove up to Arlington. We visited friends, his family, and had an all-in-all good time.
Friday we drove up first thing after we both got off of work. It’s a 4+ hour drive, but we fortunately didn’t run into any traffic (everyone and their dog was heading south towards the beach, haha). We got in late and visited some friends, just hanging out and watching True Blood (an interesting, but VERY raunchy, show). Ended up staying up until 3 am-ish. We headed back afterwords to his mom’s place. It was kind of interesting as her fiance was over due to his a/c being out. His dog was there too. He was a sweet dog, though, so I didn’t mind too much. Saturday morning (later…lol), I woke up at about 8:30-ish when the fiance got up to go to work.
Once we were both up, we met up with the same friends and went to lunch. Then we hung out until dinner, which we had with the boyfriend’s dad. After that, we went back over to the friends’ apartment and had an epic night of booze and munchkins (awesome card game!). We finally finished at about 3 in the morning and crashed at their place (boyfriend was tipsy. I was sleepy).
Sunday morning we then awoke at 10 am to get up and get ready for lunch with his mom. Had a nice meal at Chili’s. I’m enjoying getting to know her better. I need more opportunities so I can be on her good side! After that we visited a bit more with the same friends before heading back so that we could drive over to the baseball stadium.
I have to say, my first major league baseball game was a LOT of fun. Sadly, the Rangers lost. That is because I am a curse on them. Whenever I watch, they lose. =( However, the game was still fun, and the fireworks show after that was spectacular. We then went to…a second dinner (having eaten at the ballpark as well) with some other friends of the boyfriend. Ended up staying out until about 2:30, got in bed at 3.
I then woke up at about 8:00 and hopped in the shower. We were out of the door by 10, so that we could head home for Mom’s B-day dinner, which my sister/Dad made. It was delicious.
So I ate a lot and didn’t get much, if any sleep. All in all a fabulous weekend. =)
Yeah, yeah, I’m posting
Oh wow, this week has been hell. Over halfway through, though.
I guess that’s not entirely true. It hasn’t been horrible. Just…very irritating and annoying.
The good:
1. Weight seems to be steadily going down a bit. That’s kind of exciting.
2. Texancountess’s b-day party was nice. I enjoy getting together with family.
The bad:
1. Work has been annoying. It always seems like all the annoying things wil happen in the same few days.
a. We run a government database. It keeps track of the legal and contact info of businesses for the child support division. Any changes we make must have a source, and all sources must be documented. Every month they send a random sample of entries changed in the previous month. We are supposed to send the sources to them so that they can QA them and see that they were done correctly (and yes, all changes have a time stamp, so we can’t cheat). Well, the IT department scans all paper surveys. However, they are over 3 weeks behind. Searching through stacks and stacks of papers for a one page document is a pain in the butt. O_O
b. This has been the week for dumb employers. Example: I get a voice mail from this pissed off employer. “I have been calling and calling you, and you have not returned my call.” Oh crap. How did that happen? The message continues, “So I guess I’ll leave a message. I haven’t left a message because I keep getting your answering machine.” O_o What the hell? Lady, there are days when I make and receive over 125 phone calls in a day. If you don’t leave a message, I don’t call you back. Take a chill pill. (I did call her back, but she was busy. I left a message. Hell if I know if she’s called back or not.)
3. Health. Lord have mercy. I was excited yesterday. I went to the doctor, and we discussed the fact that my symptoms haven’t gotten better. It’s been annoying. The last two times I’ve had my blood tested, the level has been at 3 (which is in the “normal” range, but they want people with hypothyroidism to be at 1-2). Normal is between 0.5 and 3.5. Today? I was at 0.3. That officially puts me in the hyperthyroid range. But none of my symptoms have changed (hyperthyroid people have the opposite symptoms of me: hot easily, oily skin, rapid weight loss, etc). At least my doctor had the same “wtf?!” reaction as I did. She’s actually going to keep me on the same dose (75 micrograms). However, we’re going to move from the generic to the name brand, and we’ll test again in a couple of months.
4. Exercise: Exercise this week has been hard. Monday I jogged, but no shred (but hey, the b-day party was fun). Tuesday I jogged, but no shred due to the doctor appt and labs. Today it rained all day, so no exercise. And then the tv in the den (the only room with space to do the shred) was occupied. Ah well. I’ll get back on track.
5. Boyfriend: I love him. I really do. But it drives me crazy that he just gets…distracted…in the middle of conversations. He’s a gamer, and I understand to a point. But when we’re in the same game online, and he just stops talking mid-conversation? Drives me insane. I dunno what to do. I’ve talked to him about it. Hasn’t really made a difference. I tried making sure he isn’t doing anything too distracting in the game, even asking point blank if he has time to talk. He says he does, and then just…stops responding. I dunno, I’m going to strangle him.
So that’s this week so far. Here’s hoping the rest of it will be better.
So behind on posts!
In fact, I’m so behind that I’m going to just lump everything together today. And do a list. Hehehehe.
1. Went to Schlitterbaun this weekend with my boyfriend, his dad, and his dad’s girlfriend. It was awesome. Got there Friday evening and spent Saturday, Sunday, and part of Monday there. Ate what I wanted. Only gained half a pound. Probably because carrying a tube around all day (omg so many lines!) tends to burn calories, along with climbing stairs, hills, and then using my abs to keep me on the tube (the one I picked was waaaay too big!)
2. No measurements this past weekend. See above. =)
3. Starting yesterday, I now jog at work for my two 15 minute breaks (ends up being two ten minute jogs so that I have time to change) and for about 30-35 minutes of my lunch break. It’s…omg, it’s hard. Hahaha!
4. 30 day shred. I didn’t do any shredding Friday-Tuesday. I started back up today and hope to be on level 3 “soon.”
5. Things keep breaking! Monday I got home. The boyfriend came along for the grins in it. We sat on my beloved twin sleigh bed (and I’m serious! We just sat down!). *CRACK!* Couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Thought we were going crazy. Later that night, I’m looking at it, and it looks like it’s leaning. I check a little closer. The sideboard had split on one end. Not much we could do about it that night, so we stabilized it so there would be no pressure on the other three points. I got to sleep on the sofa.
Tuesday I get off work and went to Wal-Mart to pick some things up. Go back to my car. Car doesn’t start. I bought some distilled water and waited for my dad to come jump start my car. It works, we get home. Try to start the car again to see if the distilled water worked. Nope, won’t start. Go to another Wal-Mart closer to home and bought a battery. Got to spend $90 I didn’t want to spend, but hey, my car started.
Dad starts looking at the bed to make repairs after we get home and discovers the problem with the bed. See, apparently I bought a bed that was already broken. Yup. The end that split has about a gazillion (ok, 20) staples in it. The bed has never broken while in my possession. So I guess it broke at the store, and they decided to “repair” it. *grumble* Dad then began the process of correctly repairing a bed, using strong wood glue and clamps to give the internal part of the board that had split stability. I got to spend another night on the sofa. However, if things go right tonight, I will get to sleep in my own bed. Yay!
So it’s been a relatively hectic few days. Hopefully everything will go a bit smoother from here on out.
OMG SLAYERS OMG
What started as a horribly boring day has turned into a MARVELOUS day! Once work was over (lawl), I decided to go ahead and stop by Bath and Body Works to pick myself up some shower gel, lotion, and spray. I had decided that I was going to go with Twilight Woods, which is a light fragrance I’ve liked, but haven’t tried yet (I’ve never had the money when I’ve gone).
To make it even cooler, I found out that they were having their Memorial Day Weekend sale, which started today. Buy 3? Get 3 free. So I bought Mom some of the new Deep Aqua scent that she liked.
Got home, exercised, and then took a shower. Ooooooooh my, Twilight Woods smells niiiiiiiiiiiice. Then I browsed the internet and found that all my dreams had come true (kidding, but it is cool!). Funimation is now selling Slayers DVD sets. There’s a set of seasons 1-3 for 45 bucks, season 4 for 45 bucks, and season 5 will be released next Tuesday for, that’s right, 45 bucks. I haven’t ordered them yet, but oooooooh, I’m going to!
Side note for those wondering: Yes, I have seasons 1-3. However, they are pirated. I’ve always told people that should items I have pirated actually become available in the US, I will purchase them. I support what I like. Just…let me buy it!
